Last year: Jimmie Johnson raced to his fourth victory at the track to match Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon for the Sprint Cup record. Johnson also won in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

Last event: Brian Vickers won at New Hampshire on July 14 in Michael Waltrip Racing's No. 55 Toyota he shares with Waltrip and Mark Martin.

Fast facts: NASCAR will return to NBC in 2015, ending its eight-year partnerships with ESPN and Turner Sports. The 10-year deal with NBC Sports Group gives the network the final 20 Sprint Cup races of the season and final 19 Nationwide races. ... Johnson leads the season standings, 56 points ahead of Clint Bowyer. ... Tony Stewart, from Indiana, won the 2005 and 2007 races. ... Juan Pablo Montoya won the 2000 Indianapolis 500. ... Last year: Brad Keselowski won the first Nationwide race at the historic track, taking the lead when Elliott Sadler was penalized for jumping a late restart. Sam Hornish Jr. was second.

Last week: Joey Logano held off Penske Racing teammate Hornish at Chicagoland Speedway for his second Nationwide victory of the year and 20th overall.

Fast facts: Kyle Busch is coming off a victory two weeks ago at New Hampshire, his seventh win of the year and series-record 58th overall. ... Hornish won the 2006 Indy 500. He leads the standings, seven points ahead of Regan Smith. Austin Dillon is third, eight points behind Hornish.

Fast facts: Vettel, the three-time defending series champion, has a 34-point lead over Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. Vettel also won this year in Malaysia, Bahrain and Canada. Alonso won in China and Spain. Raikkonen is third in the standings, 41 points behind Vettel.

Last week: Johnson won the Mile-High NHRA Nationals for the fifth time, beating V. Gaines in the Pro Stock final. Spencer Massey won in Top Fuel, Cruz Pedregon topped the Funny Car field, and Shawn Gann won in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Fast facts: Shawn Langdon leads the Top Fuel standings, 19 points ahead of seven-time champion Tony Schumacher. They each have three victories this season. ... Matt Hagan has a 40-point lead over Pedregon in Funny Car, Edwards tops the Pro Stock standings, and Hector Arana Jr. is the Pro Stock Motorcycle leader.
