LONDON (AP) - Ross Brawn has stood down as team principal of Formula One team Mercedes.
Mercedes says the leadership of the team will now fall to business chief Toto Wolff and technical director Paddy Lowe.
The team says Brawn will stand down at the end of the calendar year, but with the season finishing last weekend, his time with the team has effectively ended.
Brawn bought the team from Honda, and the eponymously named outfit won the F1 drivers' and constructors' titles in 2009 before it was taken over by Mercedes, with Brawn assuming the role of team principal.
He had earlier been an instrumental figure in Ferrari's success during Michael Schumacher's stint with the Italian team.
