Ioka, who is also the WBC straw weight champion, improved his unbeaten record to 11 wins, including seven KOs. Rodriguez has 28 wins, including 17 KOs and two defeats.

On the undercard, Japan's Ryo Miyazaki won a split decision over Thailand's Pornsawan Porpramook to capture the vacant WBA minimum weight title.

Two judges scored the bout 116-111 and 116-112 for Miyazaki while a third had it 113-114 for the former Thai champ.
