UFC on FOX 26 Best Bets
December 15, 2017

The Octagon will be in Winnipeg at Bell MTS Place for Saturday night’s UFC on Fox 26 card. The main event will feature a pair of former champions in Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos.
The winner of the headliner is expected to face welterweight champ Tyron Woodley for his 170-pound strap. Lawler lost the welterweight belt to Woodley at UFC 201 in Atlanta, but he prevailed over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone by unanimous decision in his bounce-back fight.
Dos Anjos, the former lightweight kingpin, is 2-0 since moving up to welterweight from 155 pounds.
PREDICTION: I like Lawler for two units at the +110 price at 5Dimes.eu (as of early Friday night).
In another key welterweight scrap, I’m all about Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry to pull a slight upset over 10th-ranked Santiago Ponzinibbio. I like Perry for FIVE units as a +160 underdog.
Perry owns an 11-1 career record and a 4-1 record in the UFC. All 11 of his victories have come by knockout. The Flint, Michigan, native has seven career first-round KOs to his credit.
I’ll also go with UNDER 1.5 rounds at a -120 price for 2.5 units. Both fighters are strikers who like to keep the fight standing, providing us with a much greater chance of an early finish.
Twenty of Ponzinibbio’s 25 wins have come by finishes. He has four first-round knockouts during his nine-fight UFC tenure.
One unit on Erick Silva as a +125 underdog (5Dimes) to defeat Jordan Mein.
One unit on UNDER 1.5 rounds (+135) for Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov. Cirkunov has seen four of his five UFC fight go ‘under’ 1.5 rounds. In fact, 11 of his 16 career fights have ended in Round 1.
