MNF Player Props

Week 13 is coming to a close and that means one final game under the bright primetime lights. For the first time in weeks, MNF actually has a significant game in terms of what it means to the playoff picture and doesn't feature bad losing teams. It likely will see more action than the past few MNF games, but that doesn't mean you can't get on some prop bets either. Here are two I'll be on tonight.
Prop #1: Total Sacks: Over 4 (+110) or Under 4 (-140)
Both of these teams don't rank too high on the sack charts this season and that is why we see the over here listed as an underdog. Yet, in the first meeting between these two they combined for exactly 4, with New York doing the bulk of the work with three of them. Hunting down RGIII is a tough task but the Giants pass rushers looked reinvigorated last week vs. Green Bay in getting 5 sacks on Aaron Rodgers. A performance like that again would easily push this one over.
Counting on the Giants to do all the work though is a tough thing to ask and that's why if you're going to be on the over, you've got to count on Washington to get at least two. They had one in the first meeting but with them being at home on the big stage, I expect crowd noise to be a huge factor, especially for the Giants O-line getting their protections straight. Eli isn't much of a scrambler so as long as they can get pressure on him, they should be able to contain him in the pocket and go from there.

Prop #2: Robert Griffin III Rushing Yards: Over 60.5 or Under 60.5
It's not often that you see prop bets for rushing yards with a QB, but with the way the league is changing at the position, if guys like Newton and RGIII see more primetime action, these will become more common place.
However, the QB position is always going to be a pass-first position and after RGIII torched the Giants for 89 yards on the ground last time out, Coach Coughlin and the defense will have plenty of schemes and defenses designed to keep him from burning them again. New York wants to force RGIII to beat him with his arm because if they do that they have a better chance to win. The first meeting saw Washington lose three fumbles and it was those turnovers that ultimately cost them the game. New York won't let the Redskins rushing attack kill them for over 240 yards again and that starts with containing RGIII.
