Stanley Cup Finals - Game 3

Line: Boston -130; Total set at 5

The Stanley Cup Final shifts to Boston tonight and the Bruins are hoping to keep their momentum going after claiming Game 2 in overtime. Boston left Chicago with a hard-earned split and can now take full command of this series at home. The Bruins have won six in a row in this building dating back to their historic comeback vs. Toronto in Game 7 and that type of confidence is tough to crack.

Chicago is alright with snapping opponent's long home win streaks after they got a win in L.A. last round to halt the Kings 15-game home streak. Chicago has had a day to get over the tough loss that Game 2 brought and need to find a way to put some more pucks behind Tuukka Rask. The Blackhawks were the 2nd highest scoring team in the regular season this year (3.1 goals/game) and it's that offense that has gotten them to this point.

But Chicago has struggled to sustain pressure in Boston's zone in both games of the Finals and their powerplay has been putrid. This is a team that has some of the best scorers in the league in Hossa, Toews, Kane and Sharp and these four guys haven't done much so far in this series. Chicago won't go very far if these guys don't start producing and hopefully for Chicago fans these guys can get it going on the road tonight.

Boston has some struggling scorers themselves (Seguin/Jagr) and can't keep expecting Rask to stand on his head and stop everything he sees. Seguin was one of the best Bruins on the ice in Game 2 and if that's a sign of things to come then Boston will be in good shape. They believe they've found a weak spot in Corey Crawford's game (high glove) and if pucks can get through and be on the mark, there is no reason to think we couldn't see another back-and-forth affair like Game 1.

That's why I believe the only way you can go on this game is with the over 5. A change of scenery will be nice for the Hawks who were getting complacent being at home for so long and usually bounce back well offensively after scoring one or less.

Boston has got to get their top two lines rolling and the super-charged atmosphere of being at home should allow that to happen. They are 5-2-1 O/U after scoring two goals or less themselves and need to give Rask a bit of a mental break after facing 97 shots in the first two games of this series.

Take the over.
