Here is just a sample of the props Sportsbook.com is offering for the 2008 NFL Draft:
Number of Wide Receivers taken in Round 1 (Over 3 +115, Under 3 -145)
There is no stud WR ,ala Calvin Johnson, this year but there is still plenty of talent that will be selected on the first day. Now whether those names are called out in the 1st or 2nd Round is the question. MSU’s Delvin Thomas and Texas’ Limas Sweed appear to be close to sure things to go in the first 31 picks. Cal’s DeSean Jackson, Oklahoma’s Malcolm Kelly, and James Hardy from Indiana have the best shot of going in Round 1.
Which player will get drafted first? Chris Long +140, Glenn Dorsey -180
In all likelihood, one of these two defensive linemen will go in the number two spot to St. Louis. Starving for help along the d-line, the Rams can’t go wrong selecting either player. Long may be the more logical pick since DE Leonard Little is getting up in years. However, don’t be surprised if Atlanta at #3 swaps spots with the Rams for the chance to select Dorsey.
Patriots’ first pick in the Draft will be? Offensive Player +180, Defensive Player -240
It is easy to see why Defensive Player is favored considering the age of their linebackers in addition to losing CB Asante Samuels. LB Keith Rivers out of USC would be the obvious choice for Coach Belichick. There are plenty of quality cornerbacks to choose from as well, although it is debatable whether any of them are worthy of going #7. Don’t rule out the Pats drafting an offensive lineman as there should be some good ones on the board and protecting Tom Brady should always be a priority in New England.
