Where will Brett Favre play?

Sportingbet offers Brett Favre prop bet

Sportingbet.com is taking bets on which NFL team quarterback Brett Favre will end up with for the upcoming 2008-09 season.

NFL Betting Fans can take advantage of Favre’s on-again, off-again retirement with Sportingbet.com's unique Prop bet: Brett Favre’s Next Team.

Favre’s current team, the Green Bay Packers, are the favorite at +125 moneyline odds to be Favre’s NFL team when the regular season kicks off Sept. 4.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are +250, the Baltimore Ravens are +333 and the Carolina Panthers are +400.

Favre announced his retirement in March after 15 seasons with the Packers, during which he led Green Bay to two Super Bowl appearances – a win against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI and a loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII.

He was named Associated Press MVP three times and holds NFL records for touchdown passes (442), passing yards (61,655), pass completions (5,377), and pass attempts (8,758).

In June, Favre said he would like to play again this season, but the Packers said they are committed to Aaron Rodgers, the team’s 2005 first-round draft choice, being their starting QB. Favre then asked the Packers to release him from his contract so he could sign with another NFL team, but the Packers have refused to do so.

It is believed Green Bay will try to work out a trade for the 38-year-old pivot.

Tampa is considered a frontrunner because its offensive system is similar to Green Bay’s and former Packers’ assistant Jon Gruden is head coach.

And Carolina is seeking insurance at quarterback because Jake Delhomme is working his way back from elbow surgery.

One scenario the Packers won’t entertain is a deal with NFC North division rivals like the Minnesota Vikings or Chicago Bears. Green Bay, in fact, filed tampering charges against the Vikings this week, alleging the team made inappropriate contact with Favre.

Minnesota is a longshot to secure Favre’s rights, at +1000 odds at Sportingbet.com.
