Bet on the MLB Home Run Prop at BroburySports.com!
There is major value for the MLB Regular Season Home Run prop at BroburySports.com but it’s not for the player you may think.
St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols is the far away leader for this prop at -500 odds. That means you need to bet $5.00 to win $1.00. Click here to wager.
And while Pujols leads the majors with 28 home runs and is the best overall hitter in the game today, pitchers have smartened up and are being a lot more careful with him.
It all started after the Kansas City series 10 days ago. Pujols absolutely dominated with three home runs and 10 RBI’s, and the Cardinals averaged almost 10 runs per game in sweeping the series from their Missouri rival.
Since then though, Pujols has walked seven times in the last eight games and St. Louis lost six of those contests, not a big coincidence. Look for guys to continue to pitch around him unless other hitters in the lineup start making them pay.
Philadelphia’s Ryan Howard (+500) has 20 home runs after leading the majors last season with 48. Howard has been battling sinusitis and flu-like symptoms recently, but he can easily explode for double-digit homers in a month when healthy. And the best part is you only have to wager $1.00 to make $5.00.
One more interesting note about Howard is he doesn’t even lead his team in home runs. That honor goes to outfielder Raul Ibanez who has 22 despite averaging 22 for the entire year the last two seasons.
That has led to whispers about steroid use which Ibanez quickly took offense to, but he can’t keep up this pace and his odds are in the +1500 ‘Field Category’ due to him coming out of nowhere.
Tampa Bay’s Carlos Pena (+500) looks like the AL player with the most value for this prop. Pena leads the ‘Junior Circuit’ with 23 home runs and while he’s had a slow month of June with just six homers, he’s certain to heat up soon enough.
NY Yankees’ Mark Teixeira (+400) has 20 home runs after going off in May with 13. However, he has come back down to Earth in June and he’s not likely to win this title even with the short right field porch in the new Yankee Stadium.
San Diego’s Adrian Gonzalez (+2000) is second in the National league with 24 dingers. However, his career high is just 36 home runs (in 2008) and the Padres don’t have enough good hitters to protect him for a whole season. That’s why his odds are +2000.
