The Cleveland Cavaliers look for its sixth win in a row when they visit the Washington Wizards tonight. Here is the preview from BroburySports.com.
Cleveland is a 4 ½-point road favorite at BroburySports. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 7 pm ET.
Cleveland (8-3 SU, 5-6 ATS) is on a five-game winning streak, but it failed to cover the last two games.
One of those contests was last night, a 114-108 home win over Golden State as 14-point favorites. The Cavs will be a little tired tonight after also playing back-to-back games last week.
Last night’s Golden State game showed the team’s depth. Center Shaquille O’Neal missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury. Zydrunas Ilgauskas got the start and had 14 points and six rebounds. Some may even argue that Cleveland is a better team with the former starter Ilgauskas.
LeBron James paced Cleveland per usual with 31 points and 12 assists. Mo Williams added 16 points.
Guard Delonte West played in last night’s game despite his ‘personal issues.’ Cleveland added wing men Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker in the offseason, so they’re covered even if West disappears again.
Cleveland will need that kind of depth as it tries to ‘cover’ tonight.
Wizards get back Jamison
Washington (2-7 SU, 2-7 ATS) gets some great news tonight with the return of power forward Antawn Jamison. Jamison is a 20 PPG scorer and a tough rebounder, who joins Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler as one of the better threesomes in the league.
This is the season-debut for Jamison after a preseason shoulder injury. The Wizards are in the bottom third of the league in scoring, but that should improve greatly starting tonight.
Guard Randy Foye is dealing with an ankle issue but he should go.
The Wizards have lost their last six games SU and ATS. They lost at Cleveland earlier in the year 112-100. They also failed to cover as 11 ½-point ‘dogs.
Washington won both of their home games versus Cleveland last year even though they were almost double-digit underdogs. The Wizards lost the two games in Cleveland last year, but covered both as ‘dogs.
Things could be different tonight with Jamison in the fold and the Cavs a little weary.
