The Georgetown Hoyas are getting hot at the right time as they play the Marquette Golden Eagles on Friday night. Here’s the preview from BroburySports.com.

Georgetown is a three-point favorite. The Big East semifinal is on ESPN at 7 pm ET. West Virginia vs. Notre Dame is the later game from New York’s famed Madison Square Garden.
Georgetown (22-9 SU, 15-12 ATS) has now won three games in a row in impressive fashion. They closed out the regular season by beating Cincinnati (74-47). They followed it up with a first-round tourney win over pesky South Florida (69-49).
The Hoyas saved the best for last with a 91-84 quarterfinals win over Syracuse. The Orange had owned them this year, going 2-0 SU and ATS. Chris Wright (27 points) led the way, but G-town also got solid production from Austin Freeman, Jason Clark and Greg Monroe.
The 56.9 percent shooting from the field against the Syracuse zone definitely turned heads. The Hoyas are playing with a lot of confidence and it wouldn’t be surprising if they go on to win this tourney.
Marquette playing well too
Marquette (22-10 SU, 16-9-1 ATS) is 11-2 SU and 8-4-1 ATS in its last 13 games. The latest was over Villanova in the quarterfinals, 80-76 as five-point ‘dogs.
Forward Lazar Hayward averages 18.1 PPG and 7.8 RPG. He had 20 points against Nova, and was aided by 24 from guard Darius Johnson-Odom. Swingman Jimmy Butler had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Those three players, plus the supporting cast, do a good job of beating up on the lesser-lights of the Big East. They haven’t had as much success against ranked opponents this season, going 4-6 straight-up.
Marquette did win the only meeting against G-town this year, 62-59 as 1 ½-point home favorites. That was way back on Jan. 6, and while both teams are playing well right now, it will be hard for Marquette to get job done again.
