Preview: Ducks (28-9) at Huskies (18-16)

With its only losing streak of the season in the past, Oregon can solely focus on ending its struggles at Washington.

The No. 23 Ducks look to build on their first victory in February and avoid a fourth consecutive road loss to the reeling Huskies in Wednesday night's Pac-12 matchup.

Mired in a three-game skid and trailing Utah by eight at halftime Saturday, Oregon (19-5, 8-3) scored 51 points in the final 20 minutes for a 73-64 home win. That ended the Ducks' first losing streak since a four-game skid late in the 2010-11 season.

"When a team is struggling, losing the games that we did, the second half was very important to us," coach Dana Altman said. "That is the exciting thing about college basketball, you can lose your confidence one week and then win a game and get that confidence back the next week."

The Ducks hope that's the case as they try to regain the level of play that led to a 7-0 league start. Oregon, tied atop the Pac-12 with ninth-ranked Arizona and UCLA, scored more than 54 points for the first time in four games but is shooting 39.0 percent during that stretch and 22.0 percent from 3-point range.

However, the Ducks' overall effort in Saturday's second half, when they shot 48.1 percent from the field, is something they hope to maintain.

"The little plays, the hustle plays, that's what gets the team going. We had a lot of those plays," said forward Arsalan Kazemi, who had 11 points with 14 rebounds.

The Ducks shot 57.8 percent and forced 21 turnovers to overcome Washington's 51.9 percent shooting and their own 23 turnovers in an 81-76 victory Jan. 26. Though the Huskies (13-11, 5-6) enter the rematch having lost two straight and six of seven, they've won three in a row and 11 of 12 against the Ducks in Seattle.

Oregon's lone victory during that span came Jan. 2, 2010. E.J. Singler, the only current Duck who played in that 90-79 win, scored 18 against the Huskies last month and 39 with 18 boards in the last two meetings in Washington.

The senior forward scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half to help the Ducks rally against Utah. However, he's averaged 7.3 points on 29.6 percent shooting in his last three road games.

Singler averages 11.3 points overall to share the team lead with Damyean Dotson, who scored 16 on Saturday after failing to reach double figures in four straight.

It's uncertain if Oregon freshman point guard Dominic Artis (10.2 points, 3.8 assists per game) will return after missing five contests with a left foot injury. Johnathan Loyd has averaged 4.8 points and shot 21.4 percent starting in his place.

Washington guard C.J. Wilcox, fourth in the Pac-12 with 17.7 points per game, totaled 41 points in his last two home games against the Ducks. However, he's averaged 11.6 and shot 34.4 percent in the last five while dealing with a stress fracture in his foot. That stretch began with 14 points at Oregon.

Wilcox was held to eight Sunday as the Huskies fell 71-60 at Southern California. It's the only one of Washington's last six defeats decided by double digits.

"We can't give away any more games," guard Scott Suggs told Washington's official website. "We're beating ourselves. It's not like we are not capable or not talented enough to win these games."

Washington's four-game home winning streak against ranked opponents ended with a 57-53 loss to Arizona on Jan. 31.
