JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - John Fraley had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Austin Peay held off Jacksonville State 73-70 on Tuesday night, sweeping the season series.
The Governors (17-11, 11-5 Ohio Valley Conference), who trailed 36-26 with 2:05 to go until halftime, held a six-point lead with 17 seconds left.
After Nick Murphy's 3-pointer got the Gamecocks within three points, at 70-67, with 10 seconds to go, Austin Peay's Caleb Brown made the first of two free throws.
B.J. Miller hit a 3-pointer to make it 71-70 with 5 seconds remaining, then Brown went back to the line, hitting both foul shots to seal the win.
Tyshwan Edmondson and Will Triggs scored 14 each for the Governors and Brown finished with 11 points and six steals.
Murphy paced Jacksonville State (5-23, 3-14) with 22 points.
Austin Peay had a 42-28 rebounding advantage and outscored the Gamecocks 40-18 in the paint.
