PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Nemanja Mitrovic scored a career-high 22 points, including two clutch 3-pointers down the stretch, as Portland pulled out an 88-79 victory over Boise State on Wednesday night.
Mitrovic finished 7 of 9 from the field and 5 of 5 from the 3-point line. Luke Sikma added 18 points and Jared Stohl had 16 for the Pilots (10-3).
La'Shard Anderson led the Broncos (7-5) with 17 points.
Boise State has been close in every game this season with four previous losses by a total of 11 points. This time, the Broncos fought back every time Portland threatened to blow the game open.
The last time came after the Pilots opened a 71-59 lead with 7:24 left. Boise State then went on a 13-4 run to close the gap to 75-72 with 3:26 left.
But Mitrovic answered with consecutive 3-pointers to push Portland's lead to 81-72.
