KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Nikola Malesevic scored 16 points and Rhode Island held off Boston College 67-65 on Wednesday night.
Akeem Richmond added 15 points, Orion Outerbridge 12 and Marquis Jones 11 for the Rams (9-4).
Rhode Island led by as many as 12, 26-14, in the first half and held a 39-30 advantage at halftime.
The Eagles (10-3), who had a seven-game winning streak snapped, took a 41-39 lead with 16:27 left and held the Rams scoreless for nearly the first 4 minutes of the second half.
Rhode Island took back the lead on its next offensive possession on a 3 by Richmond for a 42-41 lead. Neither team would lead by more than five for the next 8 minutes until the Rams led 61-54 with 5:50 to go.
The Eagles cut it to three, 65-62, on Corey Raji's free throws with 2:06 left but wouldn't get any closer.
Joe Trapani led Boston College with 18 points and Raji finished with 14.
