Recap: Boston College , Virginia
Date: February 26, 2011 12:00 PM EDT

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Corey Raji scored 12 points during a 26-4 run spanning the halves Saturday and Boston College rallied for a 63-44 victory against Virginia.

Reggie Jackson scored 25 and Raji had 17 for the Eagles (17-11, 7-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), who used the run to turn a 28-21 deficit into a 47-32 advantage. Boston College ended a two-game losing streak, and brought Virginia's two-game winning streak to an end.

The Cavaliers (14-14, 5-9), who got consecutive 3-pointers from Mustapha Farrakhan in building that 28-21 first half lead, finished 4 for 21 from long range. Farrakhan was 4 for 13 from the field overall and fellow starting guard Sammy Zeglinski was 1 for 10.

Farrakhan and Assane Sene led Virginia with 10 points each.

Raji had just five points at halftime, but two came as the Eagles closed the half on a 10-0 run to lead 31-28. He then opened the scoring for the Eagles in the second half with a 3-pointer and added a 14-footer, another 3 and a jumper in the lane that made it 47-32.

Virginia offered little resistance the rest of the way, and when Jontel Evans scored on a layup to make it 51-38 with 8:26 to play, energizing the crowd, Jackson let the shot clock run down to almost zero, then put a move on Evans and hit a 3-pointer while being hit.

He converted the free throw to complete the four-point play, and the Eagles cruised.

Joe Trapani added 12 points for Boston College, which shot 51 percent (24 of 47).

Virginia led most of the first half, but got sloppy at the end and the Eagles capitalized. After a 3-pointer by BC's Gabe Moton that just beat the shot clock, two straight Cavaliers turnovers led to five more quick points for the Eagles, and they finished the half with Jackson making a lefty layup at the buzzer, capping a 10-0 run that made it 31-28.
