LOS ANGELES (AP) -Vernon Teel scored with 1:12 left in overtime and Loyola Marymount hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to edge Long Beach State 85-80 Monday night.
Drew Viney led the Lions (6-7) with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Teel finished with 15 points and a game-high eight assists, and Larry Davis and Jarred DuBois scored 14 apiece.
T.J. Robinson came up huge for the 49ers (6-5) with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Larry Anderson and Casper Ware scored 16 apiece, and Eugene Phelps had 14.
Long Beach State led 72-69 before Davis hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
The game was tied 10 times and had 14 lead changes, including three in the extra period.
The win was the third in a row for the Lions.
Marymount led 41-33 at intermission.
