STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Lenny Daniel had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Cal State Northridge to a 58-54 victory over Pacific on Saturday night.
Daniel scored eight points in a decisive 12-4 run late in the game. The teams were never separated by more than three points during the first 15 minutes of the second half.
The victory breaks a tie in the Big West standings between Northridge (13-17, 9-7) and Pacific (16-14, 8-8) and gives the Matadors the No. 3 seed in next week's conference tournament.
Raymond Cody had 13 points for Northridge, and Rashaun McLemore added 12.
Sam Willard led Pacific with 20 points and 15 rebounds, his 18th double-double of the season. Allen Huddleston scored 16 points for the Tigers, who shot 37.5 percent from the field.
The Tigers closed a nine-point Northridge lead to 56-54 on Willard's two free throws with 37 seconds to play, but Huddleston missed 3-point attempts on Pacific's final two possessions.
