NEW YORK (AP) -Danny Sumner scored 17 points and William & Mary held off Manhattan in the final minutes to take a 75-70 victory on Saturday.
William & Mary (2-2) led 64-57 with 5:09 left, but Manhattan (1-2) cut the advantage to 64-59 on Andrew Gabriel's layup with 4:41 remaining. After a free throw, Nick Walsh hit a jumper and Laurence Jolicoeur made a layup to chop the lead to 65-63 with 3:34 left.
The Tribe built its advantage to 67-63 on Quinn McDowell's layup with 1:08 remaining and to 69-63 on David Schneider's two free throws with 45 seconds left.
William & Mary was 12 of 27 from the 3-point line (44.4 percent) and Manhattan was 11 of 25 (44 percent).
Schneider added 16 points and McDowell finished with 14. Marcus Kitts led William & Mary with nine rebounds.
Antoine Pearson hit five 3-pointers on the way to finishing with 24 points for the Jaspers. Walsh had 16 points.
