TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Dwayne Lathan scored 24 points Wednesday night to lead Indiana State to a 73-51 victory over DePaul.
Carl Richard just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds for the Sycamores (4-5).
Indiana State scored the first six points and never trailed. It was 32-14 at halftime, with Lathan nearly matching the Blue Demons with his 12 first-half points.
DePaul was just 5-for-22 (22.7 percent) from the field in the first half and finished the night at 38 percent. Indiana State's biggest lead was 69-39 with just over 5 minutes remaining.
Cleveland Melvin came off the bench to lead DePaul (3-5) with 15 points.
It was just the second victory for Indiana State in 13 games against the Blue Demons. The other one came in the 1979 Final Four, when the Larry Bird-led Sycamores won 76-74 to advance to the championship game which they lost to Michigan State.
