YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) - Drake overcame a 25-point, 10-rebound performance by Brandon Bowdry on Wednesday night to defeat Eastern Michigan 58-54 and snap a three-game losing streak.
Seth VanDeest and Rayvonte Rice scored 13 points apiece for the Bulldogs (3-4), and Ryan Wedel added 10.
Bowdry was the only player in double figures for the Eagles (1-7), who shot just 35 percent from the field including 3 for 17 on 3-point attempts.
Drake led 20-7 midway through the first half before Eastern Michigan rallied to pull within 29-28 at halftime.
The Bulldogs increased that lead to as many as nine points in the second half, but the Eagles rallied again, pulling within 54-51 with 1:26 remaining. After a layup by Rice extended the lead to 56-51, Bowdry hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left to bring Eastern Michigan within two.
Frank Wiseler sealed the win with a pair of free throws for Drake.
