TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Justin Hurtt scored 21 points, Scottie Haralson had 18 and Jordan Clarkson came off the bench to add 17 as Tulsa routed East Carolina 86-67 on Wednesday night.
The win ended a string of five games decided either in overtime or the final seconds for the Golden Hurricane (14-11, 7-4 Conference USA).
The Pirates (13-12, 5-6) hung close for 30 minutes thanks to seven 3-pointers by six different players.
Leading scorer Jontae Sherrod (15.3 points per game) was held to 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting for East Carolina while Darrius Morrow added 10 points.
Hurtt, Haralson and Clarkson caught fire simultaneously in the second half. Haralson made four 3-pointers after halftime.
Tulsa shot 52.5 percent from the field after struggling below 40 percent in its three previous games.
