NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Maurice Barrow put Fairfield ahead with a layup with 1:12 left as the Stags came back from a 10-point, second-half deficit to defeat Old Dominion 55-54 on Saturday night.
Old Dominion led 50-40 with 8:23 remaining, but the Stags tied the Monarchs at 52-all on Desmond Wade's 3-pointer with 4:11 left.
Fairfield took a 55-52 lead on Barrow's layup at 1:12 and held on for its fifth win in a row.
Amadou Sidibe led the Stags (9-5) with 10 points, and Marcus Gilbert had eight points and 10 rebounds.
DeShawn Painter had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Monarchs (2-11), and Richard Ross scored 15.
Old Dominion trailed 27-26 at halftime and 34-32 on Sidibe's jumper 3:27 in, but the Monarchs ran to a 50-40 advantage with Painter scoring eight points during the spurt.
Fairfield's Keith Matthews scored six points to narrow the gap to 52-47 with 5:31 remaining.
