DENTON, Texas (AP) - Josh White scored 18 points and George Odufuwa added 14 points and 13 rebounds as North Texas defeated Florida International 87-77 on Thursday night for its 16th straight victory at home.
Dominique Johnson added 12 points, Tristan Thompson 11 and Kedrick Hogans 10 for the Mean Green (14-3, 3-1 Sun Belt), whose home streak is the ninth-longest in the country.
DeJuan Wright had 21 points, Alex Legion 18 and Eric Frederick 16 for the Golden Panthers (8-8, 3-1). Frederick collected 11 rebounds.
The Mean Green led by four points before White hit a 3-pointer with 1:54 remaining. After a Florida International miss, Shannon Shorter's layup made the score 82-73, and North Texas protected the lead at the free-throw line.
White and Thompson became the winningest players in school history, as the seniors took part in their 78th victory.
