NEW YORK (AP) - Charles Jenkins scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half, scoring his 2,000th career point before halftime to lead Hofstra to a 71-58 win over Manhattan on Saturday night.

Jenkins reached the plateau with 7:42 left in the first half when he knocked down a 15-foot jumper on a fast break. He became only the seventh player in Hofstra history to score 2,000 points in a career and the 10th in Colonial Athletic Association history.

Jenkins is also the only active player in the nation with more than 2,000 points. Andrew Goudelock of College of Charleston trails him with 1,955 points.

Mike Moore finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Pride (6-4).

Manhattan (2-8) went on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 53-50 with 7:25 to play. But Jenkins answered with back-to-back 3-pointers, which helped spark Hofstra's 18-1 run to pull them ahead by 20.
