NORMAL, Ill. (AP) - Jake Odum scored 13 points and Indiana State scored 19 of the game's last 20 points Wednesday night to beat Illinois State 56-46.
The Sycamores (13-12, 8-6 Missouri Valley) trailed 45-37 with 9 minutes left, but held Illinois State to a free throw the rest of the way. RJ Mahurin was fouled attempting a 3-pointer and made all three free throws to tie the game at 45 with 5:13 left. Koang Duluony's layup - his only points of the game - put the Sycamores in front to stay with 4:08 to play.
Odum also had eight rebounds for Indiana State, which won despite shooting just 35 percent from outside.
Tony Lewis had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Trey Blue scored 10 points to lead the Redbirds (11-14, 3-11). Illinois State shot 33 percent from the field, and made only 29 percent of its second-half shots.
