POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - Scott Machado scored 22 points and had 11 assists to lead Iona over Marist 85-70 on Sunday.

The Gaels (16-10, 10-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led 60-58 with 10:26 left to play before scoring 12 unanswered points for a 72-58 lead with just over 6 minutes remaining.

Rashon Dwight added 19 points and Mike Glover chipped in 15 for Iona, which shot 59.3 percent from the floor (16 of 27) in the second half to extend its halftime lead.

The Gaels outscored Marist 50-14 in the paint and forced 18 turnovers, leading to 22 points.

Sam Prescott scored 34 points for the Red Foxes (4-23, 3-12), who have lost 10 straight and 13 of their last 14 games. Devin Price added 11 points and Anell Alexis had 10.

Iona led by as many as 19, 38-19, with 4:08 left in the opening half. But Marist entered halftime on a 14-4 run to close the deficit to 42-33.
