BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Alec Burks had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Colorado snapped a four-game skid with a 95-69 victory over Iowa State in front of a sparse crowd on a frigid Tuesday night.
Four teammates also scored in double figures, including Cory Higgins with 16, as the Buffaloes (15-8, 4-4 Big 12) dominated the Cyclones in virtually every category. More importantly, they finally put away an opponent with a strong second half.
After blowing a 14-point halftime lead in a loss at Baylor on Saturday, the Buffaloes built a 49-34 lead over the Cyclones (14-9, 1-7). Colorado quickly doubled its lead as Levi Knutson's 3-pointer made it 78-48 with 12 minutes left.
Knutson and Marcus Relphorde each finished with 15 points, Nate Tomlinson had 10 and freshman Andre Roberson scored nine points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Cyclones, led by Scott Christopherson's 24 points, lost their fifth straight.
