Saint Mary's, which made it to the regional semifinals before losing to Baylor last season, remained in first place in the WCC and reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth straight year under coach Randy Bennett.

Ashley Hamilton scored 16 points for Loyola Marymount (9-15, 1-8), which has lost seven of eight. The Lions played without leading scorer Drew Viney, who was scratched from the lineup before the game due to a migraine headache.
