BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Greg Logins scored 20 points and Elton Frazier added 18 as Canisius defeated Manhattan 72-63 on Friday night to end a three-game skid.
The Golden Griffins (14-14, 8-9 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) swept the season series against the Jaspers for the first time since 1996-97. They also assured themselves of their first back-to-back 14-win seasons in 14 years.
The game featured 10 ties and 10 lead changes, with Canisius leading 35-31 at halftime on a Logins 3-pointer.
After Manhattan (6-23, 3-14) pushed ahead 41-40 on Michael Alvarado's layup with 15:08 left, the Golden Griffins used an 8-0 run, with Julius Coles and Frazier scoring four points each, to take the lead for good.
Canisius made 10 of 22 3-pointers while the Jaspers hit only 1 of 8. The Golden Griffins dished out 18 assists to Manhattan's five.
George Beamon led the Jaspers with 22 points.
