JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Donald Boone scored 16 points and Arkansas State held off Middle Tennessee State 69-65 Saturday night.
Trey Finn had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Red Wolves (9-10, 4-2 Sun Belt), and Brandon Peterson scored 14 points. Boone and Finn helped seal the win with free throws in the final 90 seconds.
Jason Jones led the Blue Raiders (7-10, 2-2) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Shawn Jones had 12 points and James Washington scored 10.
Middle Tennessee State, which trailed by 13 in the first half, had a chance to tie it with 2 minutes left but Jason Jones missed the second of two free throws to keep the score at 66-65 Arkansas State. Boone made two free throws with 1:29 left and after the Blue Raiders missed a 3-pointer, Finn made a free throw with 18 seconds left.
