CHENEY, Wash. (AP) - Glen Dean scored 17 points and Laron Griffin and Cliff Ederaine teamed up for an unlikely three-point play with 6.4 seconds left in overtime that proved the difference in Eastern Washington's 59-55 victory over Montana on Saturday night.
Ederaine added 14 points and Cliff Colimon 13 for the Eagles (9-19, 6-9 Big Sky), who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Brian Qvale and Art Steward scored 12 points apiece for the Grizzlies (20-9, 12-4), who could have clinched a share of the conference title.
After Qvale sank a pair of free throws with 11.3 seconds left in overtime to pull Montana within 56-55, Dean found a streaking Griffin, who was fouled while dunking over Qvale and was injured on the play. Montana picked his replacement to shoot the ensuing free throw and chose Ederaine, a 44 percent foul shooter, who drilled it to push the Eagles' lead out of reach.
