MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - B.J. Jenkins scored 25 points to lead Murray State past Morehead State 70-62 on Thursday night, clinching at least a share of the Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship.
The Racers (22-8, 13-4) led 28-24 less than a minute into the second half before scoring 17 unanswered points to take a 45-24 lead with 14:05 left to play.
Kenneth Faried hit a jumper 23 seconds into the second half and ended the Eagles' scoring drought with another jumper at the 13:34 mark. Morehead State (21-8, 12-5) missed 10 consecutive field goals during that stretch.
Isacc Miles hit a layup with 12:47 to go, giving Murray State a 49-29 lead. But a 20-8 run cut the deficit to 57-49 with 3 minutes remaining.
The Racers went 13 for 16 from the free-throw line the rest of the way.
Demonte Harper scored 17 and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Faried finished with 15 points and 10 boards.
