RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Tyrone Conley scored 15 points and Ferg Myrick added 14 to lead New Hampshire to a 68-66 win over Cornell on Wednesday night in the opening matchup of the Richmond Marriott Holidays on the Hardwood Classic.
The Wildcats (6-5) led 23-11 with 7:48 remaining in the opening half, but a 16-3 run from Cornell gave the Big Red their first lead at 27-26 with 2:27 left before halftime.
A 3-pointer from Jordon Bronner with 1 second left gave New Hampshire a 33-27 halftime lead.
Errick Peck tied the score at 50 on a 3 with 8:27 left to play. The score was tied six more times and each team held a lead of at least three over the next 7 minutes before a three-point play from Myrick gave the Wildcats a 66-63 lead with 28 seconds to go.
Peck scored 19 points to lead Cornell (2-9), which has lost eight consecutive games. Chris Wroblewski scored 14, Aaron Osgood 12 and Drew Ferry 11.
