JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Wesley Jenkins scored 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Saint Peter's defeated Niagara 77-57 on Saturday.
Jenkins came into the game averaging 11.1 points a contest, but was 10 of 10 from the free-throw line and made 7 of 9 from 3-point range as the Peacocks (9-8, 4-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) broke a two-game losing streak.
Niagara (4-14, 1-5) took its biggest lead, 19-12, with 8:46 to play in the first half when Malcolm Lemmons hit a jumper. But the Peacocks finished the half on a 25-6 run and led 37-25 at the break.
Saint Peter's built a 21-point lead in the second half as Brandon Hall made two free throws with 13:54 to play, making it 52-31. The closest the Purple Eagles came after that was 15 points.
Anthony Nelson scored 20 points to lead Niagara, but was its only player in double figures.
