Recap: UNC Greensboro , Maryland
Date: December 08, 2010 7:30 PM EDT

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Jordan Williams had 23 points and 13 rebounds, freshman guard Terrell Stoglin scored 18 and Maryland beat winless North Carolina-Greensboro 99-56 Wednesday night for its 15th consecutive home victory.

Adrian Bowie scored 16 and Cliff Tucker added 13 for the Terrapins (7-3), who begin Atlantic Coast Conference play Sunday against visiting Boston College. Maryland's home winning streak includes eight ACC games last season and six non-league games this year.

It was the eighth double-double for Williams and his fourth straight. It was also the fourth game in which he scored more than 20; he finished three points short of his career high.

Kyle Randall led the Spartans (0-8) with 18 points. Off to the worst start in school history, UNC Greensboro is 0-3 against ACC foes and next faces Wake Forest and Clemson on the road.

The Spartans are 0-4 against Maryland, including a 97-63 loss last season at Greensboro Coliseum. None of those four defeats have come by fewer than 27 points.

Williams had 14 points, Tucker had 10 and Maryland went 17 for 31 from the field in taking a 49-31 halftime lead.

Maryland led 10-6 before Tucker hit a 3-pointer to ignite an 8-0 spurt that built the margin to 12 points. Williams made his first four shots from the floor and had five rebounds - one more than the Spartans - with 7 1/2 minutes elapsed.

After UNC Greensboro closed to 27-21, Williams made a three-point play and Stoglin scored off a steal by Dino Gregory to put the Terps back up by double digits. Bowie and Tucker followed with 3-pointers, and Williams sank a foul shot to make it 39-21.

It was 43-29 before Tucker sent an alley-oop pass to Williams, who slammed the ball through the hoop with his right arm. Tucker added a jumper at the buzzer.

The only suspense in the second half was when Williams would get his 10th rebound. He had nine at halftime and didn't snare another until 9:14 was left.
