EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Ned Cox scored a season-high 16 points and Evansville held off a late rally to beat Northern Iowa 70-62 Tuesday night.
Kavon Lacey added 11 points for the Purple Aces (14-10, 8-6 Missouri Valley), who have won five straight conference home games for the first time since 1997-98.
Anthony James scored 21 points and Johnny Moran had 15 for the Panthers (18-8, 9-5), who have lost two straight after winning a season-high eight in a row.
Evansville opened the second half on an 8-2 run and took its biggest lead, 42-26, on Cox's 3-pointer with 15:06 remaining. Northern Iowa pulled to within 58-54 with 1:43 to play before the Aces squelched the Panthers' rally with seven unanswered points.
Evansville took a 34-24 advantage into halftime after closing the half on a 10-3 run.
