PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Tim Douglas came off the bench to score 27 points and lead Portland to a 78-67 win over Portland State on Saturday night.
Luke Sikma contributed 16 points for the Pilots (9-3) and shot 8 of 9 from the floor. Derrick Rodgers added 12 points for Portland.
Chehales Tapscott led the Vikings (6-4) with 25 points while Chris Harriel chipped in 12 points.
Portland, which never trailed in the game and shot 59 percent from the floor, jumped out to an early 9-2 lead and then rode 16 first-half points from Douglas to a 34-27 halftime advantage.
The Vikings got to within four points early in the second half, but the Pilots took command of the game with a 9-0 run and led 51-38 after Douglas made a driving lay-in with 13:48 remaining. Portland State never got closer than 10 points after that.
The Pilots held Portland State to just 38 percent shooting.
