MILWAUKEE (AP) - Darius Johnson-Odom scored 17 points and Chris Otule added 16 as Marquette beat Providence 86-62 on Sunday.
Jimmy Butler had 15 points for the Golden Eagles (18-11, 9-7 Big East), and Jae Crowder finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
One game after scoring a Big East record 52 points in a 94-93 overtime loss to No. 9 Notre Dame, Marshon Brooks scored 17 for the Friars (14-15, 3-13).
Gerard Coleman added 16 points and Vincent Council had 12 for Providence, which lost its sixth straight.
Marquette led 40-27 at the half, then made 10-of-13 shots to start the second half.
The Golden Eagles took their biggest lead, 64-41, with 12:31 left on Junior Cadougan's fastbreak layup, and the Friars didn't get closer than 14 the rest of the way.
