Recap: St Josephs , Charlotte
Date: February 24, 2010 7:30 PM EDT

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Ian Andersen hit his first four 3-point attempts and scored 19 points, Shamari Spears added 17, and Charlotte ended its three-game losing streak in emphatic fashion with a 95-58 rout of struggling Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night.

While poor shooting had plagued the 49ers (19-8, 9-4 Atlantic 10) in their plunge from first to fifth in the conference, the offense came alive against the Hawks (9-19, 3-11) to perhaps revived their NCAA tournament at-large hopes.

Andersen, who came in averaging 2.7 points, hit all five shots, four of them 3-pointers, as Charlotte built a 50-23 halftime lead.

A barrage of early timeouts by coach Phil Martelli couldn't keep Saint Joseph's from its fifth straight loss. Todd O'Brien had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Darrin Govens scored 12 for the Hawks, who fell to 0-7 in road A-10 games and are in danger of not qualifying for the league tournament.
