PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Carl Jones scored 17 points and Saint Joseph's held on for a 58-48 victory over Siena on Friday.
Justin Crosgile had 11 points, while Langston Galloway and C.J. Aiken contributed 10 each. Aiken came up big on both ends as the Hawks (5-8) held Siena (4-8) at bay.
Aiken had nine rebounds and blocked four shots. His tip-in capped a quick 5-0 run, after Siena had closed to within two, and gave the Hawks a 48-41 lead with 5:25 left.
Then Aiken blocked three shots by Siena's Davis Martens in a 57-second span and prevented the Saints from getting any closer than five points the rest of the way.
The Hawks sealed the victory by making 6 of 8 free throws in the final 37 seconds, with Jones accounting for 4 of 6, missing the only two when the final margin had been established.
Rakeem Brookins led Siena with 12 points, while Ryan Rossiter added 10 points and 15 rebounds.
