COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Marland Smith scored 23 points and Southeast Missouri State beat Tennessee Tech 77-75 on Tuesday night.
Neither team led by more than five points in a second half that saw seven ties in the final 12:50. The Redhawks made 5 of 8 free throw attempts in the final 1:30 to preserve the win. It was only the second win in the series in the past 15 games for Southeast Missouri State.
Anthony Allison added 19 points, Leon Powell had 13 and Cameron Butler 10 for the Redhawks (3-10, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who have won three in a row since snapping an 18-game losing streak.
Southeast Missouri State made 44.2 percent (23 of 52) of its field goal attempts while Tennessee Tech made 50 percent (24 of 48). The Redhawks scored 22 points off 18 Golden Eagles turnovers.
Jud Dillard scored 21 points, Chase Dunn added 19 and Alfred Jones had 12 for Tennessee Tech (4-6, 2-1).
