CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Zac Swansey scored 22 points, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 8 seconds to play, and Tennessee Tech defeated Eastern Illinois 77-74 on Thursday night.
Kevin Murphy, who also scored 22 points for the Golden Eagles (10-9, 6-4 Ohio Valley), scored with 1:04 left to tie the game. Swansey had four of his six 3-pointers in the second half.
Jeremy Granger scored with 1:55 left to put Eastern Illinois ahead 74-72, but the Panthers (8-12, 4-6) didn't score again. Granger had a game-high 29 points and 10 rebounds, and missed a 3-point attempt at the final buzzer.
Alfred Jones added 12 points for Tennessee Tech, which led 26-15 in the first half before Eastern Illinois began its comeback.
Shaun Pratl and Alfonzo McKinnie scored 13 points each for Eastern Illinois.
