FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) - Cooper Land led Wright State with 21 points Thursday night and the Raiders routed Milwaukee 68-44 in Horizon League play.
The Raiders (8-6, 1-1) shot 61.5 percent from the field in the first half (16 of 26) and built a 40-29 halftime lead. They cooled off in the second half, but held the Panthers (6-8, 1-2) to only 6-of-27 shooting after halftime (22.2 percent) and pulled away, building a 26-point lead.
Milwaukee was playing for the first time since Dec. 18 - its longest break between games since a 20-day respite in 1993. The Panthers got 15 points from Tony Meier but had a hard time finding a secondary source of offense. While Meier made 6 of 10 shots, his teammates made only 12 of 42.
Land also led Wright State's long-distance attack. The Raiders made 11 of 18 from 3-point territory, with Land making 5 of 6 and Troy Tabler 4 of 7 on the way to scoring 14 points.
