KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Yemi Makanjoula, the Tennessee center who is transferring at the end of the semester, had an order of protection filed against him in February by an 18-year-old female student.
The Knoxville News Sentinel first reported the order of protection Tuesday. Tennessee announced Saturday that Makanjoula had been granted his release to transfer.
The student told police the 6-foot-9, 250-pound Makanjoula held her down and attempted to have sex with her on Feb. 15. The University of Tennessee Police Department investigated, but prosecutors declined to file charges. The woman was granted an order of protection Feb. 19 in the Knox County Fourth Circuit Court that is good through April 3, 2014.
The 20-year-old Makanjuola signed the final order April 4 prohibiting him from having any contact with the student.
