SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Ty Greene scored 21 points as South Carolina-Upstate rolled past Bob Jones Monday 94-67.
Both teams shot roughly the same percentage from the field, but the Bulldogs did launch 19 more shots and grabbed 17 more rebounds.
SC Upstate (4-3) got 18 points each from Jodd Maxey and Michael Buchanan and 13 more from Torrey Craig. Maxey grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, leading the Spartans to a 55-28 advantage on the boards.
Greene's layup with 2:24 in the first half gave SC Upstate a 14-point lead that was pushed to 18 by intermission. Kyle Turner tossed in 18 points to lead the Bruins, with 13 each from Zach Mercado and Larry Taylor.
Quantity trumped quality in the shooting department in the game as Bob Jones was 26 of 59 for 44.1 percent; SC Upstate was 35 of 78 for 44.9 percent.
