KU star Embiid on way to NBA?
January 24, 2014
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - In the span of a few short months, Joel Embiid has gone from relatively unknown prospect to a possible NBA lottery pick. In fact, some believe he could go No. 1 overall.
But the 7-foot freshman from Cameroon says he's not sure whether he's ready for the rigors of professional basketball. Besides, he says, he's having too much fun helping No. 8 Kansas pursue its 10th consecutive Big 12 championship to consider the future just yet.
That hasn't stopped nearly everyone else.
One scout compared him to Hakeem Olajuwon. And the fact that he's only been playing the game for a few years means that he has plenty of potential.
