Betting Analysis – Stanford Cardinal

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 8-4
  • ATS: 6-5-1
  • SU - Home: 4-2
  • SU - Away: 4-2
  • O/U: 7-5

Expect a much more dangerous Stanford team heading into Boulder, Colorado. The Cardinal were embarrassment on offense in a road game against Utah, although the defense played well - as they typically do.

Stanford allows 67.5 points per game, and has a defensive efficiency rating of 92.8 - which ranks 70th nationally. Oscar Da Silva is the senior leader of this team, averaging nearly 20 points per game and seven rebounds.

Da Silva didn't play well against Utah, so expect a much more passionate and fiery Da Silva to try and lift his team up in a tough environment. It's possible the thin air becomes a factor for Stanford, already playing on wobbly legs as the second half might be one to watch.

Ziaire Williams and Jaiden Delaire also average a double-digit point total with over five rebounds per game. This three-headed monster will be looking to hit early against a stout Colorado defense. If all goes to the script, Stanford will start strong and then wear out as the game progresses.

Betting Analysis – Colorado Buffaloes

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 10-3
  • ATS: 9-4
  • SU - Home: 6-0
  • SU - Away: 4-3
  • O/U: 5-8

Evan Battey becomes the difference maker for Colorado in this game, probably being tasked to guard Da Silva. McKinley Wright IV will have to take over though, as this Stanford defense will be all over him. Expect Wright to utilize his 5.6 assists per game in this one.

Both Battey and Jeriah Horne will need to have good offensive production against this Cardinal defense, while Jabari Walker might need to step up as well. Colorado has a top 50 offense and defensive efficiency rating in the nation, and only allow 62.1 points per game which ranks 28th.

This team is defensively-led, beginning with Wright in the backcourt and Battey down low. If those two can control their areas of the court, expect a brutally physical low scoring game that slightly favors the better Buffaloes at home.

Stanford-Colorado Predictions

This should be a fun one to watch, as a desperate Stanford team now faces a red-hot Colorado Buffaloes squad. Both teams should find themselves in March Madness, so its not as easy to pick despite an appealing wager on Colorado at home.

As stated earlier, the second half going to Colorado makes a lot of sense if Stanford comes out strong. That should be expected after a road loss in which the Cardinal were favorites. Desperate and assertive should be the style of play we see early from Stanford, only for the better Buffaloes and thin air to play a factor.

Siding with that theory, taking the Buffs in the second half instead of the given spread is fine, although both should cover. The half wager buys a safety net incase Stanford pulls off the road upset - which they can.

The UNDER is the most appealing bet however, as Colorado typically goes UNDER. They've done so eight times already this season, and with Stanford coming off a sluggish offensive performance (added with solid defense) the UNDER seems justified here.

  • Score Prediction: Colorado 73 Stanford 65
  • Best Bets: UNDER
  • Best Bets: Colorado 2H
