California RB Jahvid Best has been ruled out of this week's game after suffering a scary injury in Saturday's loss to Oregon State. Best landed awkwardly on his neck and shoulder on a plunge into the end zone and was taken off the field by cart. Hit CT scan and MRI came back negative, but he could be out for a while.
Analysis:
With Best out, this could be a good week to take a chance on Shane Vereen, who has demonstrated plenty of talent. With Arizona coming to town, Vereen could see a lot of touches if the Bears can keep it close. (sportsbuff.com)
