Tony Mejia projects the College Football Playoff each week, including the Championship Game. Be sure to follow VegasInsider.com on Twitter @TwitVI to receive daily updates from Tony Mejia.
Along with his playoff picks, Mejia also forecasts the four bowls that will also be picked by the selection committee. Included below are his conference rankings and weekly Top 25 poll as well.
National Championship Game
Florida State vs. Alabama
Saban vs. Jameis in college football's dream scenario.
Sugar Bowl, Semifinal 1 vs. 4
Florida State vs. Wisconsin
The defending champs go undefeated, drawing the Big Ten's best.
Rose Bowl, Semifinal 2 vs. 3
Florida State vs. Oregon
The Iron Bowl winner battles the Pac-12 champion.
Auburn vs. Oklahoma
A trip to Miami is always a nice consolation prize.
South Carolina vs. UCLA
Jim Mora, Jr. was the 49ers defensive coordinator in 2002, matching wits with the ol' ball coach twice in the NFL. Steve Spurrier won his preseason opener against San Francisco in Japan, 40-7, but Mora got even when games counted, handing him a 20-10 loss in Washington's road opener. This would be their first college meeting.
Ohio State vs. Baylor
Art Briles would love to be in a playoff semifinal, but beating other state schools that could be in this mix would be another win for Waco. Overcoming Braxton Miller's absence to land here would be a win for Buckeye nation.
Georgia vs. Michigan State
Sparty travels too well for this to be an impossible road challenge despite the venue.
Preseason Conference Rankings
You can argue that the Pac-12 and Big Ten can be flipped, or that Big 12 and ACC should be flopped, but there's no debate to be had about what league is currently No.1, no matter what part of the country you live in.1) SEC
3) Big Ten
4) Big 12
6) Mountain West
7) American Athletic
9) Conference USA
10) Sun Belt
